A total nightmare. stay away. work in tourism since 1992 this hotel is all a joke. actually a nightmare! I complain after 5 minutes they gave me the room that I wasnt expecting a room with a single bed and a shower that is so little that I cant even fit inside and internet is not working at all. she replied I will fix internet. i was expecting that they would change my room. internet never worked. Place is collapsing and in need of a big renovation.

We had to cancel our reservation due to emergency surgery, we contacted them on the 5th day which allowed free cancellation and they charged the card anyway and have refused a refund, we have not been given a credit note or any further contact, upon phoning we had some arrogant man who refused to give let us speak to a manager as he stated the matter has been closed, he also refused to give us his name and proceeded to hang up on me.

Merveilleux séjour dans cet hotel. L'accueil, la chambre, le petit déjeuner et les petits plats du chef, tout est génial. La gentillesse de Karen la propriétaire est incroyable. Un super endroit que je recommande vivement. Merci pour ce magnifique séjour et un gros calin à Fred le chien de la maison.

Un endroit magnifique avec un accueil très chaleureux. On se croyait en famille. Une literie très confortable et une chambre très cosy. D'excellents plats et un petit déjeuner royal. Un calme reposant et un superbe paysage. Karen la propriétaire était extrêmement gentille et son mari un Chef talentueux. Merci à eux et gros bisous à Fred le chien affectueux.

I called today to enquire about hosting an 80th birthday party in their advertised space but was greeted by a very defensive member of staff. I was told the number would be too many, and what food would I want. When I replied saying the number was only an approximation and we were gathering ideas I was told ‘yeah we won’t do that’ and that everything depended on the people and ‘we are full until next year anyway’. They then hung up the phone. Really poor customer service for a business who could have had a party of people paying for food and drinks.

We always enjoy our stays at the Schoolhouse Restaurant and Hotel; for excellent food, a warm welcome and good value for money you can't beat it!! Will definitely return soon!!

was booked in here last night by my firm,went to reception and was told they don't take 3rd party bookings and they had cancelled my room unless I paid for it on my own card,why be on booking .com if that's the case, we only use booking. com, left and found a nice place in Swindon who do take my firms 3rd party card

My second visit with my partner for a pre Valentine's meal.... Food was to a very high standard and absolutely delicious. Beautiful and unique setting. Very cosy old building with real character. Karen who served us was exceptional in customer service and super friendly. The icing on the cake was the infamous Fred the gentle pooch who kept us company whilst we dined. I cannot recommend the Old School House enough.... A real gem within the vicinity of Swindon. First class!!!!!!!!

Don't be fooled by the exterior charm, it doesn't last past the reception area. The bedrooms was nothing short of shabby. We were talked into the 2-day package and when our plans changed, we were charged the full price for a meal we didn't have and a night's stay. Food mediocre at best. I had the fish and it had all the earmarks of being cooked from frozen. Would not recommend

Such a lovely place to stay! We booked very last minute and although we weren't able to book into the restaurant for dinner as we arrived so late, we were offered a simplified menu that felt anything but simple! A beautiful and comfortable room, with excellent standards of hygiene and clearly taking good COVID precautions, which also meant we got to enjoy our hearty breakfast in bed. We even got to meet the charming Fred, who along with the proprietor made us feel very welcome indeed. Would thoroughly recommend.

What a fun and quirky experience. Owned and run by Fred the loveable dog, whom is well supported by his human employees. The location is a good launchpad for both the Southern Cotswold and the North Wessex Downs. Well worth a visit of you're looking for something a little different.

The building and it's interior are in need of TLC the hotel if updated would bring in more business and the restaurant menu needs to be scaled down. The food was presented well, but let down by a chef that really had a poor palette. The lady owner of the hotel was really lovely and friendly and a very good host.

Will Neaver stop there agen felt like a prisoner. Old bloke come out moaning and shouting at us because we ordered a takeaway even tho we was eating it in the van and the restaurant was not even open on the Monday. You don't treat your guests like that we had to stay there all week aswell and all ready paid otherwise I would of punched him DO NOT STAY THERE !!!!

Lovely meal in interesting setting...can't remember when we had such a good selection of vegetables with our main course... not just the usual selection of carrots, broccoli and peas. Particular mention for the adorable Fred the dog.

Awful - we were confined like prisoners to our rooms. Restaurant, bar, and hotel grounds all out of bounds. V dated, dark and depressing. We left one night early from our 3 night stay. The only upside was the lovely breakfast (dropped off outside our room to eat in there) and the views of cows in a field from our windows. We would never go back

Fantastic Place, Food is always good, Karen and Tonny are great hosts. The rooms aren't the usual corporate fair, which means if you like that this probably isnt for you, on the other hand if you like an interesting building, with good transport links, good access to local area along with a great restaurant and lovely people. Try this one out.

Absolutely outstanding service, very nice and kind staff. High standard hospitality and warm, calm atmosphere. Comfortable and spacious room with all facilities. Room service available. Full English breakfast highly recommended.
